Young Friends Camp
YF Camp 2025 is now happening over the Matariki long weekend plus a couple days, 20th to 25th of June.
As with most of our camps people are welcome to attend for as long or as little as suits them. When signing up there is space to specify which days you will be attending.
Any diet restrictions are accounted for in our meal planning and our meals are generally vegetarian anyway.
Our Young Friends camps are generally quite self directed and campers are free to opt in to any activities we plan and put on. One of our traditions as Young friends is to offer some kind of service to the
hosts or community we're visiting which can include planting trees, weeding, and painting. This service is usually one morning/afternoon and any preferences or limiting factors such as mobility are considered before work begins.
This year we will be focusing on sustainability, mending and restoration. There will be a workshop on practical sewing and mending, so bring your holey jumpers! As always there will be knitting and adding to our Young Friend blanket. If you don't know how to knit, this is a great, low pressure environment to learn.
The camp is FREE to attend. We will pay for travel to and from camp with money from QEF. You can book your own travel but please confirm your approximate costs with us first. If you are not able to book your own travel we can make other arrangements, please contact us.
THE DEADLINE is 1st May for flight/travel requests but after this time we will still cover the cost up to a certain amount- please get in touch with us to discuss.
Please note that this will be a drug & alcohol free camp.
